Mitiaro is one of the smallest inhabited islands in the Cook Islands. Population: 87.
NT5 Features spent time there in August 2025 filming the people, the land, and the daily life of the community. The film follows the island across generations, from the children to the elders, and asks what it means to live in a place that most of the world has never heard of.
It is not a tourist film. It is a portrait of home. For all Pasifika.

Coming Winter 2026.
Directed by N.T.T. Tutini
A psychological horror short film following Peter, a man searching an abandoned hospital for someone named June. What begins as a search becomes something stranger and more dangerous as the building resists his progress. Corridors that double back. Memories that intrude on the present. A reality that grows less reliable the deeper he goes.
The film operates in the space between grief and guilt, between what we remember and what we allow ourselves to remember. Peter is not simply looking for June. He is looking for a version of events he can live with. The hospital is not simply a location. It is the architecture of a mind that has sealed something away and forgotten where.
Some answers are better left undiscovered. Peter discovers his anyway.

NT5 Features was founded in Invercargill in 2024 by Nicklaus Teremoana Tutini, then a high school student with a camera and a clear sense of what he wanted to say. The company's first film, The Absence of June, marked the beginning of something larger. A growing crew, a developing voice, and a commitment to telling stories that might otherwise go untold.
Since then NT5 Features has taken that vision to some of the most remote places in the Pacific, including the Cook Islands island of Mitiaro, where fewer than 83 people remain. With a slate that includes Mitiaro, The Horse, and the forthcoming Silhouette, NT5 Features is building a body of work defined by intimacy, patience, and a deep respect for the people in front of the camera. And most importantly, the audience.
